About Northwestern’s Muslim Mental Health Initiative

Prompted by a rising global health mental health crisis and a lack of campus resources for groups of students with marginalized identities, this initiative was created by a small team of Muslim students at Northwestern, using their personal experience and understanding of campus life to cater to our program to the needs of the larger Northwestern community. MMHI has worked closely with the administration and CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) for the past 2 years to not only expand the provider list to include more diverse therapy but arrange for a licensed psychiatrist from an outside service to offer free drop-in weekly consultations.
